B.C.A. Lockdown!

Today was Berean's first lockdown that I can remember and it was very...interesting. Apparently there was a man in the vicinity of Monnet that stole a police officer's firearm and ran off with it into who knows where. This caused some panic among the schools as you might have guessed. Last I heard, Monnet released lockdown around 1:45. B.C.A. released lockdown just a few minutes ago so I am writting this article to pass the time. I don't believe they've apprehended the man yet but my information might be out of date, so be aware and stay safe.

Friend o Grams!

Yes folks its true! the fabulous friend o grams are back!! But this time the journalism class isn't selling them our Ag class is selling them! Also, it just so happens to be valentines day, which means they will be produced to go along with that holiday. So please show off your support and buy all the friend o grams you're allowed to!

Jeremiah Was A Bullfrog.

Once upon there was a frog named Jeremiah. He lived in Mrs. Thompson's room at BCA. Jeremiah's job was to make sure there was no PDA going on among the students at BCA. He hopped around the school and sat between any couples that were getting too close. Jeremiah is Coach's favorite frog. The end.

Today we interviewed Colt Keeling. He isnt actually a highschooler yet but it can count for now. So here goes!

Word of the DAD-GUM Day

Yes folks, we are back! And by "we" of course, I mean Austin and Stick have gone on another journey through the heart of this place known as Berean Christian Academy to find out what kind of vocabulary our school's students possess. The word is "kinchin." Here....is what we found.

Shelby- "Something related to the kitchen"

Drew- "Oh a Japanese food"

Chase- "A karate move"

Mr. Holder- "The sound that money makes when you drop in a bucket. You know? That ca-ching sound?"

But despite B.C.A.'s fountain of knowledge.....none of these answers were correct. So we did what we had to do and turned to our faithful and ever-reliable Bus for the answer. And here was his answer...

The Bus- "A child. Like the ones that I carry!"

And to no surprise, our faithful Bus got it right! The word "kinchin" meant "a child." Well, there is another edition of The Word of the Day. Spirit Week!!!

Today is the last day of Berean Christian Academy's Spirit Week. So to wind down from this week I decided to review some highlights from the week. Monday was fake an injury day. For fake an injury day Jordan decided to tape his pinky and call it good. For Tuesday we had character day. On this day there were a lot of interesting costumes. Chase and Caleb both dressed up as the Joker and Brooke rocked a mean catwoman outfit. There were lots of great costumes, but I don't have a lot of room, so I'll just leave it at that. Yesterday was duct tape day; Sarah Baker and Jordan came dressed in matching duct tape outfits (awwwww) and Austin was pretty decked out in duct tape as well. And finally, today is career day. Surprisingly, a lot of people came as homeless people or gaming bums today. I thought this was pretty funny. There were a few younger kids that came as sports players like baseball players or football players. All in all, I'd say this was a pretty neet spirit week. I can't wait for next year.

Today is monday, and christmas is almost upon us. Tuesday "which is tomorrow" will be our last day of school till after new years. Tomorrow we will have our school wide christmas party which will be held at third and fourth hour. All students are welcome and encouraged to bring snacks or some sort of beverage. We plan on having lots of fun. Also chapel will be held tomorrow, dress code will be as it is on a normal tuesday but you may wear chapel clothes if you wish.

Believe it or not, journalism students are human and make mistakes. Lucky for them, I am willing to take time out of my day and correct their mistakes to represent our class more correctly. Because I don't make mistakes. I am flawless.

Word Of The Day

Once again, Caleb and Austin went on another adventurous journey throughout the school asking what the work "semi-weekly" meant. And here are the results... Chase- Half of the week Hanna- I don't know.. Amy Lucas- Half a week Marenda- Every two weeks And once we were done with the humans, we once again turned to our faithful and loyal Bus for answers. He said "Twice a week". And once again, the Bus got it right!!! Semi-weekly meant:"twice every week". Our Bus is a genius!! Doubters

Hey, everyone! :) I just wanted to post this little update for all of the journalism class students that doubt our faithful audience. A certain student made a claim that we don't have any readers, and I beg to differ. We had at least 13 views today, and over 300 for the month of October. Check out the stats! We also have viewers from every continent, excluding Antarctica. Of course, that can't really count because only scientists and penguins live there. Who needs penguins as readers, really? John The Bumble Bee

Once upon a time there was a bumble bee named John. John was an outcast bee. All the other bees used to laugh and call him names. They never let poor John join in any bumble bee games. Then one foggy thanksgiving eve the queen came to say John you suck at everything, leave the hive and dont come back! Then all the bumble bees hated him and shouted out with rage, "John you rotten bumble bee, go and fly away from me! The End :)

The Word Of The Day!

Austin and I once again went on an extravaganza across the mighty school of Berean Christian Academy asking people what another word meant. This time the word was "Brobdingnagian" and this might just be the hardest....most difficult word that we have ever asked the defintion for. Here are the results: Coach- What in the world?! I don't know, but it sounds perverted... Get away from me! Chase- Annoying Shelby- Uhh annoying? (great minds think alike) Mrs. Amy- The sound a woman makes expressing her distress. After all these mortal humans failed at guessing the definition of the word, we asked our amazingly faithful and loyal Bus. And the Bus answered with... The Bus- Huge! Just like me. Amzingly, the bus answered correctly! In fact that is the exact definition of Brobdingnagian. Join Austin and me next time for the word of the day. - Caleb and Austin ;)

Student Interview

Ashlee Mattingly Ashlee Mattingly is currently in 11th grade. She began coming to BCA last year and she loves it and knows God wants her here. When asked why she loved BCA told me that it had helped her grow spiritually and it had great friends.Ashlee loves the color pink, the beatles and she loves to play the guitar and sing. Her favorite movie is Pirates of the Carribean. Her favorite food is seafood and she loves reeses. She wants to be famous one day and she works at subway. Our first basketball game!

As many of you know our BCA basketball season is getting under way! We have been practicing for a few months now and our first game will be on October the 30th. Sadly I will not be able to play in this game because it is only a JV and V and for the girls. So ya if anyone who actually reads this blog would be able to come to this game should!! It will be held at the First Baptist Church in Pierce City! - Dakota

What do you think fulgerent means?

Austin and I went around the school today asking people what the word of the day meant. Now you may remember that Austin and I did something like this last year. In fact, this is exactly the same thing we did last year. But anyway, let's get to the responses. Keep in mind the word is...fulgerent. Zack- "something to do with trees" Chase- (you all remember we always have to include Chase in these questions) "hmmm I think it means sad." Ashtyn- "filtered" (that wasn't a very good answer) Abi- "It has to do with coffee because of the Folgers coffee company." Holder- "something nasty" Well now that we have all those answers, let's tell the actual meaning. Fulgerent-flashing like lightning. We look forward to the next word of the day. The Sad Story

"GET OUT YOU DUMB MUTT" I had made my human very angry. But I swear, it wasn't my fault. That stupid cat was taunting me and just asking for me to chase him. Unfortunately, our home wasn't big enough for me to run around without breaking a lamp, table, and the tv. When my human got home, I recived a good beating and then was thrown into the night. It was cold, and dark, but I decided it was time for me to move on. So I started walking and by daybreak I was walking along a highway. I know this wasn't a smart move, but I knew if followed it long enough I would end up somewhere that someone would want me. It was approximately 7:50 am when the incident happened. I was just trotting down the highway when I heard something in the bushes beside me. I was so scared I forgot about the fact that I was walking along the highway and jumped into the street just in time to get hit by a white SUV. I saw my life flash before my eyes and fade into a bright white light. And that is how I died.
