Connor Anderson
BCA is very proud of the students that contested in the Geography Bowl. Hard work and long studies paid off as Connor Anderson took first in the competition. Because of his passion for world history, Connor was able to answer almost all questions correctly. Enough to make him the BCA Geography Bowl winner.

Teaching the Truth by Mason Anderson
As Christians, we fight to stop the sins in America such as adultery, pornography, homosexuality, racism, divorce, and abortion. The problem with fighting back is that we use the Bible as our answer to all of these questions, and the Bible has been proclaimed by unbelievers to be a flawed book, filled with fairy tales and mythical writings. So how do we fight these everyday situations using a supposedly “flawed” document? We disprove the foundations of their belief and prove that the Bible is the infallible Word of God.
The foundation that most of these situations are based on is the theories of evolution and the Big Bang. These theories have tried to give physical and scientific evidence of its supposed truth. Unfortunately for evolutionists, this theory goes against the first and second laws of thermodynamics. The first law of thermodynamics says that you cannot create or destroy matter. The Big Bang theory plainly states that everything was created from nothing. If everything is natural and no miracles are scientifically possible, then this theory is false because in order for this to work you would have to create matter. How did we get the certain amount of matter that we have now? What was the cause for matter to appear from nothing, but then become limited?
The second law of thermodynamics states that you cannot create order out of chaos. The whole process of evolution is chaos. “Survival of the fittest” is one of the most barbaric life styles that the theory of evolution has created. Complex live organisms cannot rearrange themselves into an organism of a higher form as claimed by evolutionists. This is scientifically backwards. Scientists cannot have it both ways. The second law of thermodynamics is proven to be correct. Evolution lacks any scientific proof. Evolution is simply an empty theory.
As far as we know, there has been no scientific proof that a species can change the number of chromosomes they have within their DNA. The amount of chromosomes in each species is set and unchangeable. Man could not have evolved from another species because if an animal were to develop an extra chromosome or lose a chromosome because of a possible deformity, it would not be able to successfully reproduce with the animal of the same species. This defect could not be passed down to the next generation and proves that evolution is scientifically impossible.
In the public school systems it is against the law to teach the Bible as being true because it is based on a faith. However, evolutionists and big bang theorists all agree that the world began from an explosion that produced the universe. If you ask any of them today, they will tell you that they do not know where the atom that caused the explosion came from. So, the very people that hiss like a cat at the word “faith” claim they know the big bang created the universe, but they don’t know how. Is that not faith? Trusting in something you have no evidence for? If this is a faith, just like all the religions of the world, why is it that it is being taught as fact in our public school system?
There are many evidences proving the Bible, such as the founding or Noah’s Ark, the founding of Mount Sinai, and the fact that there is a whole civilization that is throughout the entire Bible; Israel. Archeologists have proven that the Bible is a historical document. The Smithsonian Department of Anthropology said “Much of the Bible, in particular the historical books of the old testament, are as accurate historical documents as any that we have from antiquity and are in fact more accurate than many of the Egyptian, Mesopotamian, or Greek histories. These Biblical records can be and are used as are other ancient documents in archeological work. For the most part, historical events described took place and the peoples cited really existed. This is not to say that names of all peoples and places mentioned can be identified today, or that every event as reported in the historical books happened exactly as stated.” This and many other organizations have found historical evidence of the Bible’s truth. From the chronological orders of the kings ruled in the Bible, to the languages that were used during that time (Agard).
The length of evidences against evolution and for the truths of the Bible is endless. Still, with all of this proof at hand, why is evolution continuing to be taught in public as fact. Statistics show that America has become a wicked nation since they stopped teaching the Bible as fact.
· Sexually transmitted diseases - Gonorrhea: ages 15-16 - Up 226%
· Scholastic Aptitude Test Scores - Decline in Student - From 980 in 1963 to 900 in 1990
· Divorce Rates - Up 111% since 1963
· Unmarried Couples - Up 536% since the mid 1960's
· Unwed Birth Rates - Up 325% since 1963
· Pregnancies To Girls Ages 10 thru 14 - Up 553% since 1963. The difference between the two figures is being aborted.
· Violent Crime Offenses - Up 995% since 1963. (Yakov)
Its time America needs to be taught the truth. All these atheists have tried to disprove the Bible and prove something completely false. All in all, it is not that man can’t find God, it’s that he won’t find God. Because of man’s ignorance towards evidence, America has become a wicked nation. When you start teaching people that they are animals, they start acting like animals.

Central Challenge
As the central group was taking a nice little swim, they came across a nice litte reef just of the shore. This is great, in most situations there are plenty of fish living within reefs. Looks like these guys are going to have a pretty tasty meal coming up!
Northern Outbreak
The North are facing an outbreak of malaria. How will this affect their health, and can they cooperate with each other through this painful situation?
Will pleasant weather lead to pleasant attitudes for the Western group?
Todays challenge for the western groups shows to be nice weather. After five weeks I'm sure the members nerves are getting on- edge. Let's hope the weather will help relax the group, and maybe bring them together. This will also be a great time to make some plans that will help them escape if they get the chance.
Eastern group's challenge!!!
Ya'll better hold on to your hats, you have strong winds coming your way!!

The teacher in the spotlight is Mrs. Young, She enjoys to teach, she's been teaching for 17 years. If she was a veggie she would be a aspargus. Mrs. Young has three kids Ashton, Joby and Jake
Brent's Editorial
This year we have a new team, we have seven home school kids on our team. Mason Anderson, Zack Thompson and me, Brent Downs are the three from Berean. We have had 7 games so far. We had one home game against Springfield Rush we won, therefore we are undefeated at home.
The girls have had nine games so far. They have won four, and lost five. Our very own Coach Duffel is coaching the girls this year. They are doing very well this year.

I don't know what to do this on....So I guess I'll give my opinion on tonsils, if you have them keep them!!! I just got mine out two weeks ago. I didn't think it would be anymore painful than a sore throat, but I was sooooooooooo wrong!! not only does your throat hurt but also your ears and your jaw make you in agony.
I really don't know why ears hurt, but why my jaw hurt I can tell you, they use a apparatus to open your mouth as large as possible, there was a possibility that the apparatus would chip my teeth and cut my lips, but nothing in that nature happened :] ..now the "I don't care medicine" well that stuff made me higher than a kite.
When Coach and Mr. Howerton came to visit me I barley remember, but I do remember showing them my heart rate that I thought was soo funny, Coach laughed at me :/ but I would've laughed if he was high. well just keep in mind that if anyone says "you need your tonsils out..DON'T!!!~Sarah

"Stranded" Editorial
In langauge the freshman and sophomore classes are playing a great litte game called Stranded. I think this is a very fun activity, as well as a great excercise to help the students bond and learn how to strategize and plan things as a group. I am personally enjoying this a lot because it makes us think about what we will do next and we never know what's coming next!
I am a member of the western group, and so far we have done pretty good. We had a chance of escape not too long ago, but sadly we didn't have enough escape point to manage the get-away. We have found a lobster colony also. There always have to be some unfortunate circumstances along with the good ones, we had a cold spell last week, but as a group we pulled through it and kept warm.
In conclusion, this is a great activity to use in classrooms or any other group. It seems like everyone involved is having a great time and wants to continue.

Central group challenge
Well there was a barrel that floated up on shore. It was full of bottles of ink, and it had some paper in it.The paper got wet on its journey to shore. What will we do with the new supplies.
Wendats Challenge
This weeks challenge for the western group is a major benefit. While taking a team stroll along the beach they came upon a colony of lobsters. Looks like this team is going to have a tasty dinner tonight, but they have to come up with a plan to catch them first!
Eastern challenge!!!
Things are looking well for the Eastern group, after another barrel washes ashore and you all get to pick one item from your supply box.

Why do you eat turkey on thanksgiving?
Evan- Thats what the pilgrims ate.
Jaylyn- Because there are a lot of them around.
Faith- Because it's good.
Joal- Because it's giving thanks.
Mr. Kirkland- Because I missed the deer.
Central Group
After a day of working on the raft and caring for sarah a plane flew 5 miles north of where we were staying. Did we have enough escape points to leave this island , we will find out.
Guy's Basketball Tournament
After losing the tournament, the guys are still getting used to playing with their new teammates. With very little varsity players and only right players all together, the guys have to work extra hard if they want to win. They play a home game today and are ready for a victory. Pray that God will help them play to the best of their ability and that they could represent Him by the way that they play.
Eastern Challenge
During the night, a swarm of hammerhead sharks started patrolling off the eastern shore. Turns out that barrel attracted a lot of attention.
Girls tournaments
The girls played in a tournament the 9th through the11th they did very well. They placed fifth out of seven teams. Then last weekend they played in another tournament, they got second place. They did very. They were in the losers bracket and came out to play in the championship game. They played very hard but could not pull off the win. They still brought home a nice trophy.
Boom!
Uh-oh! trouble for the flaming teletubbies! An ironic situation has occured, lightning has struck and started a fire near their camp. I guess they knew what they were doin when they picked their name out! How will the northern group handle the fiery flames? They must be quick to get the fire out before it destroys everything!
Western Challenge
The western group has some rough times ahead of them, they have a cold spell coming up. The wendats will have to come together and overcome this challenge as a team and work together to figure out what to do to prevent their camp from freezing over. What will they do?

Boys Games
The boys have started their games this year. Their first game was at the YMCA in Carthage against Victory Christian Academy. BCA lost by one point but fought hard. The second game was against Aurora Christian Academy. They also lost that game by one point. The boys then played against Victory again in Carthage and lost 27 to 43. The boys had a rough game with four of their starters fouling out. They are pumped and ready to play in the tournament in Arkansas this weekend the 19th and 20th. They will be playing five games within two days. Pray that God will give them strength to play and to be a witness in the way they play.
The Nutty North
The Northern group went on a long food hunt after devouring the tuna and found a large coconut grove. Enjoy the luscious nut.
The Central group!!
Good news for the Central Group, floating logs was apon our shore....will this help the group tho have more escape points? ....we'll find out!:)
Western Journey
After building a raft, the Westerners rowed around for a while and came across a lobster colony. There will be some good eatings tonight.
The Eastern challenge!!
The Eastern group's luck is turning around for the better when a floating barrel comes washing ashore. Does this mean a escape for the Eastern crew, we'll see!!!

The West Quest
The West Wendats have been surviving wonderfully. They missed a boat that passed by, but recovered a swiss army knife it had dropped in the water. The Wendats have built a nice shelter made from rocks and trees. The only problem they have right now is battling rainy weather. Will their handmade hut holdout? Or will it crash to the ground, forcing these Westerners to rebuild?
''Northern Group challenge''
Well a tuna came up close to shore when the tide was up. When the tide went down there was a
pool of water on the beach, and a tuna was in the pool of water. What are you going to do take the risk of trying to catch this tasty meal, or let it go.

Northern Quest
The first night is setting in for the Flaming Tell-uh-tub-eees. Setting camp in the mountains by an abundant water supply was a smart move. But nature has other plans. The harsh winter ceased the flow of the life sustaining spring and affected both the North and the Central part of the mysterious island. While the Central still has another water supply, the Northern Flaming Tell-uh-tub-eees have lost their only supply of water. They will have to use their survival instincts and resources to withstand this disaster.
Eastern camps challege.
The challenge for the East group is a weather challenge, this is a very hard challenge to go through a cold spell is coming your way!! but that's not the last of you're worries! a hurricane is next in line. better get ready!!
Central Group
We had a cold spell come in and then a hurricane came in from the south! Then the northern groups only spring dried up. That is the spring that runs into our part of the island. So we will have to move from our spot and find water and ''FAST''.
Western Wendat's Challenge!
The western area of the island got a great challenge the first time around. We have a ship passing by five miles south of the islad at night. They have a great opportunity to escape, but must have atleast five escape points. Do they have enough? If not, they can still start planning for the next opportunity the Wendat's have to escape!

I don't want to put a title! :p
We asked random students, and a teacher what they thought the word jocular meant.
Mrs.Vermillion: A guy who thinks He's a jock.
Evan: a man
Jaylyn: a girl
Rebekkah: running or something?
Brook: funny
Austin: stupid
Random kid nobody knows: A very fat, plump, vivacious, pink elephant that can make his skin purple, has a job in the circus jumping through hoops, and has three math degrees.

solar balloon!
The freshmen got a chance to experience a solar balloon, a solar balloon is a like huge black trash bag that when gets laid out onto concrete and filled up with air from a fan and heat from the sun. The bag begins to rise and as soon as you tie the mouth of the bag it floats up high. their is a person on the other side of the bag holding a string so the bag doesn't fly away. the bag is approximately 50ft long but it had a hole in it so it was 40ft. So the freshmen had a wonderful time chasing the big solar balloon- Sarah Swank:)

BCA moved in our lockers last week. Although I might not use these lockers, considering I am a Senior this year and I am only at school half the day, I believe that these lockers will help out the upper students this year so that they won't have to carry all of their items into class. Carrying the lockers up stairs was a hassle, but most of them are ready to be used. There is a lot of progress this year at Berean, and the lockers are just the beginning.

What's Up, Chuck?
What should I do if I have stage fright but I have to perform? -Anonymous
Everyone has some type of fright in their life. Just stay strong and trust God. Remember, if you have given your situation to God, He will never let you fall. "And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him." Colossians 3:17 Give thanks to Him, whatever the outcome is.

The school has been trying to set up lockers for the past year or so, and we finally got them upstairs today. I am very appreciative to have these lockers for the high school students. We carry a lot of books and things in our back packs and it will be a great relief to have a place to put our belongings. I think that we should paint the lockers navy blue or maroon (our school colors) instead of the brown color that they are now. But, other than that, I think that the lockers will be very helpful and appreciated by the majority of the students.
Sarah's veiw
So, my view on the lockers is...I personaly like the idea of the lockers, why you ask? well, I shall tell you. I like them because our bags weigh like 56546946543 pounds so it's hard to lug all that weight around! so I think the lockers are a wonderful idea! also I think we should get to exspress our true colors! hopefully we can paint them and make them pretty, I'm hopeing we can pick a color either navy or maroon(our school colors). So far the lockers are a great hit there kinda loud but we're getting used to the slamming noise haha...So I give them a thumbs up!!!

country fun fair!
As I pulled into the drive way I saw a fire truck and beyond that their was a parking lot full of people and a feild full of cars. When I parked and got to the lot I saw my group of friends and we walked around together. We saw alot of booths, there was a booth for just about anything. At the end of the night the "fish Stick" group gave a wonderful performance and the Ledbetters sang and gave a speech that was very awesome!, so all in all it was a great night.-Sarah Swank & Marenda Crouch:)
The Last Set of the Year
The last games of the season were last week. The girls played a game on Thursday in Aurora against the El Dorado Springs Buffaloes. It was a great game and finished off when number 4, Jessica Smith, scored the final two points. The audience also enjoyed the presence of Leo the Lion, who helped cheer the girls on. The Volleyball girls finished off in third place at a tournament in Bentonville on Saturday. All in all, the season was pretty good. They had three girls who returned from last year. We will be waiting for next year when the season starts up again. As for now, basketball season has started. --By Mason Anderson

See You At The Pole
This year, Student Council took over the "See You at the Pole". The high school classes met at the poles early in the morning to pray. One student reacted to the prayer time by saying, "This is, like, one of my favorite things to do. 'Cause public school does have 'See You at the Pole,' but it is different. They don't have the freedom to do [as much as we do]." One of the teachers said: "Once it was started it was very good, and the chapel service went well. The students were in tuned and not squarely. Hoping for more students to come early next year." Mrs. Thompson and her choir class played a song, followed by the song Days of Elijah that the whole school participated in. Student Council President, Mason Anderson, gave a devotional and led the prayer. Please continue to pray for our school and nation.

Whats up ,Chuck ?
My sister Chidi claws me with her fingers,... what should i do?
- Amarachi Miller
Dear Amara, Well, in Judges 16:19 it shows that Delilah found that Sampson got his power from his hair. So Delilah cut it off. Maybe you should cut off your sister's fingers while shes sleeping. But in all seriousness ,Mathew 5:44 says to love your enemies , bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. So, treat others nicely, even if they do bad things to you.

Matthew 5:44 says "but I say to you love your enemies, bless those who curse you,do good for those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you."The bible says to love and pray for those who are mean to you . Another thing you could do is claw her in the face with your fingers. but that might not be a good idea. :)
that's what's up, love, Chuck

Coach Duffel
We want to welcome our new principal, Coach Duffel. We asked him why he wanted to be called coach. He said that he had been a coach for so many years and that it was more comfortable to be called that. Coach Duffel taught and coached at James Island Christian School in the east coast before coming to B.C.A. His reason for applying for this job was that he thought it would be a great opportunity, and he felt that the school is a part of what God is doing. His favorite color is burgundy, and he loves Mexican food. He enjoys reading, sports, and fishing. He has a son in the army in Hawaii and a daughter in Springdale, Arkansas. Please continue to pray for him as we go throughout the school year. We are very blessed to have an amazing principal.

Welcome Back, Lions!
At the beginning of school, everything went over excellently. Every student was introduced to their new classes and their new principal. We have lost a couple of students but have gained some more. Volleyball has already started and both girls and boys basketball will begin sometime next month. We will continue to learn and grow in our knowledge as we go throughout the year. Please continue to pray for the teachers and students. God bless.
